Mature Student Test(s) are used for applicants that do not meet or are missing an English and/or Math requirement for the program(s) they have applied too. All applicants that are missing these eligibility requirements will be advised by our Enrolment Services Office or our International Division.
In order to be eligible to write a Mature Student Test(s), applicants are required to obtain a referral from our Admissions Office. This office will determine if the applicant is eligible and will identify the specific subject area(s) needing to be tested. (English or Math) Once a referral has been made, the applicant will be directed to contact the Test Centre to schedule an appointment.
Results are non-transferrable and are used for Niagara College applications only.
Results are not equivalent to a GED and cannot be used outside of Niagara College.
Successful results do not guarantee that you will receive an offer to a program at Niagara College. All program requirements are needed to be considered for eligibility. Please contact our Admissions Office to inquire how your results impact your current application.
A fee of $20 is required for each test that needs to be written and includes one free rewrite for each unsuccessful attempt. Fee and payment instructions will be provided at time of booking.
To help you prepare for the test, you can also look at the S.A.T. or G.E.D. preparation manuals. You can find them at any public library or bookstore. You can also find sample questions by doing a Google search with the key words “SAT or GED practice questions”.
