NC LLC staff have put together this list of resources to help students, staff and faculty of Niagara College participate in anti-racism and anti-oppression conversations. We hope that these resources will spark the desire to learn, participate, and continue these important conversations. Black Legal Action Centre
The Black Legal Action Centre is a "non-profit community legal clinic that provides free legal services for low or no income Black residents of Ontario."
The Black Liberation Collective
Run by students at Ryerson University, "Black Liberation Collectives (BLC) are an international movement of students challenging anti-Black racism in post-secondary institutions in every way that it manifests."
Black Lives Matter - Canada
Provides information on the organization's demands to defund the police, as well as other demands and legal resources.
Black Women in Motion
Black Women in Motion is "a Toronto-based, youth-led organization that empowers and supports the advancement of black womxn and survivors of sexual violence."
Canadian Anti-Hate Network
The Canadian Anti-Hate Network "monitors, researches, and counters hate groups by providing education and information on hate groups to the public, media, researchers, courts, law enforcement, and community groups."
Canadian Anti-Racism Network
An organization that "tracks and monitors hate group activity," "provides victim support services," "public education about institutional racism," and helps youth "to leave hate groups."
Canadian Race Relations Foundation
Canadian Race Relations Foundation is " Canada's leading agency
dedicated to the elimination of racism and all forms of racial discrimination in Canadian society."
Federation of Black Canadians
"The Federation of Black Canadians is a national, non-profit organization, driven by organizations across the country that advances the social, economic, political and cultural interests of Canadians of African descent."
NIA Centre for the Arts
NIA Centre for the Arts is "a Toronto-based charitable organization that supports, showcases and promotes an appreciation of arts from across the Afro-Diaspora."
Urban Alliance on Race Relations
A Toronto-based organization "that works primarily and proactively with the community, public and private sectors to provide educational programs and research, which are critical in addressing racism in society."
