Borrow from Ontario Colleges

Interlibrary Loan for Niagara College Staff and Students

Niagara College Libraries are happy to request materials on your behalf from other Ontario College Libraries. To get started, simply fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request Form.

Important Information:

  • Items may take at least two weeks to arrive at your College Library. You will be notified by email when the requested items arrive.
  • Only circulating materials, as defined by the lending library, may be borrowed.
  • Borrowers are responsible for reading and abiding by the Direct Borrowing Agreements with Ontario Colleges and must have a current Niagara College student or staff ID card.

Resource Sharing: Patron Instructions

Primo View of Page 1+ Resource Request 

 

Users will be able to place resource sharing requests in Primo by signing in to their account either at the top right of the page or in the yellow “alert” bar that appears at the top of their search results. 

1. Users can search all Page 1+ libraries by clicking the “Advanced” search from the homepage or on Primo.

2. Once the advanced search is selected, they will need to select “all Ontario Colleges” in order to run the search.

3. The results of the search will show titles with wording underneath saying, “Check for available services”. For users to make a request, they will need to click on the title. 

4. If not yet signed in, they will need to do so to complete the request.

5. Once signed in, under “How to get it” the box will show “Resource Sharing”.  

Select, “Resource Sharing” to review and complete the form.

6. Press “Send Request” to submit the form. 

  • Click Send Request and the request should now appear in your account 

Note: You will be notified by email when your item is ready for pick up. Items will be held for 3 business days. If you do not pick up your item within this time period, the item will be returned to the Niagara College Libraries and Learning Commons collection.
