Alma Procedures

Check-In Procedures

Navigate to the user profile:

  1. Click on Fulfillment
  2. Choose Return Items

3. Scan item barcode, item will automatically check in

 

After check-in, Alma displays:

  • Item info
  • Loaned & Return date
  • Patron Name
  • Next Steps
  • Owning Library

Override date - used for Drop Box items

  1. Click on Calendar and backdate
  2. Scan barcode
  3. Click on Apply
  4. Click on OK

A pop up window will appear if the item is on Hold for another user.

  • On a scrap paper, write Last name & first initial as well as Hold until date (3 business days)
    • If the Epson printers are set up, which they currently are in Welland, you can actually print a holds slip but you have to select Print. Then when the box pops up to the top right of the screen, then select Quick Print and then the printer options pops up to print.  
  • Users will receive an automatic email informing them of the Hold
  • A reminder email will be sent 1 day before Hold expires
  • A Hold expired email will be sent when cancelled
  • Note: Printer is not connected so error message will appear
