Placing a Hold (Request)

Users can request items in Primo VE from the catalogue:

  • Search the Catalogue and click on the Title

Step 1: Click on Request
Step 2: Fill out the information
Step 3: Send Request

Method 1

  • Manage Patron Services > search for user
  • Click on Submit Request
  • Search for Title
  • Click on Patron Physical

Fill out the information

  • Request Type
  • Requester
  • Pickup at (Location)

Click on Submit

Method 2

  • Use the Persistent Menu to search for an item (Barcode/Title/Author etc)

  • Click the three dots and choose Request

 

Fill out the information

  • Request Type
  • Requester
  • Pickup at (Location)

Click on Submit

 

Can edit from the following menus:

  • Fulfillment > Manage Patron Services > Requests tab
  • Fulfillment > Pick from Shelf
  • Fulfillment > Active Holds Shelf

Click on three dots and select Edit, make changes and click on Submit 

 

                 

Hold (Request) - Staff Process

Step 1: Capture Holds

  • Fulfillment > Pick from Shelf

Step 2: Retrieve items

  • Make note of the Call number and retrieve from the shelf

 

 

 

Step 1: Scan Items

  • Fulfillment > Scan in Items

Step 2: Review Destination Column

  • After scanning the barcode, refer to Destination Column for next steps

Process remains as past practice

  • On Hold shelf - On a scrap paper, write last name, first initial and hold until date (3 business days)
  • Transit to another campus – place in delivery bag, labelled to destination campus. Take/put in Delivery bin
    • At destination campus – Scan In Items. Follow above step if on hold or Reshelve to Location
