Sign Out Library Material

The Libraries have a wide variety of materials for you to sign out. All you need is your student / staff card and a visit to the Library desk to borrow items.

You can sign out books, fiction, DVDs, cameras, and more!

Borrowing privileges vary whether you are a full-time student, faculty/staff member, alumni or community user.

nc Students, Faculty, and Staff

Students (includes full-time, part-time, Continuing Education and Apprenticeships) and Faculty/Staff (includes all full-time and part-time Niagara College Faculty and Staff):

Library Cards and Borrowing

  • Your Niagara College Identification Card acts as your Library Card. Please bring it with you when you visit the Libraries. You may borrow books, DVDs, reserve materials, feature films, paperbacks, magazines, and equipment such as, digital cameras, etc.
  • NC Staff, please contact the Library to verify your login credentials as it is different to login for faculty.
  • Students may take out up to 10 items at a time. A maximum of 2 course reserves or 2 DVDs at a time.

Renewals

  • You may renew regular books, DVDs, and magazines ONCE. An item cannot be renewed if there is someone waiting for it, if it is on reserve, or equipment.
  • Items may be renewed in person, over the phone or online. If you’d like to renew an overdue item, you must come into the Library and pay the late fee at the time of renewal.

Faculty and Staff

  • Please visit your campus library to set up a library account or fill our the following form to request a library account.

Retirees/Alumni

For Retirees/Alumni (includes all Niagara College alumni or past employees who are not currently classified as students, faculty or staff):

Library Cards and Borrowing

  • We may have your information still on file if you are a recent graduate. If not, please visit your campus library to set up a library account or fill out the following form. There is no fee. Cards are valid for one year from date of issue and may be renewed if there are no outstanding fines. Please bring your card to borrow materials.
  • You may have 5 items checked out on your card at any one time
  • You may borrow circulating books, paperbacks, and computer discs/software.

Renewals

  • You may renew your titles 1 time. An item cannot be renewed if there is someone waiting for it.
  • Titles may be renewed in person, over the phone or online. If you’d like to renew an overdue item, please come into the Library and pay the late fee at the time of renewal.

Off-Campus Access to Online Resources

  • You have off-campus access to the Library catalogue.
  • Due to licensing agreements between the College and our database vendors, you do not have access to the research databases to which the Library subscribes.

Community Users

For Community Users (includes all library users who are not classified as Niagara College students, alumni, faculty or staff):

Library Cards and Borrowing

  • To obtain a Library Card, please visit your campus library. There is a fee of $10 if you are not a member of one of our LiNC libraries ( Cards are valid for one year from date of issue and may be renewed if there are no outstanding fines. Please bring your card to borrow materials.
  • You may have 5 items checked out on your card at any one time.
  • You may borrow circulating books, computer discs/software, and paperbacks.

Renewals

  • You may renew titles 1 time. A title may not be renewed if someone has requested it.
  • Items may be renewed in person, over the phone or online. If you’d like to renew an overdue item, please come to the Library and pay the late fee at the time of renewal.
