Job Description

Peer tutors review material from courses they have successfully completed during 1-on-1 appointments with students.

  • Flexible work schedule: Peer tutors can set their own availability and can work on campus or online.
  • Hours: Peer tutors get paid per appointment. They can work up to a maximum of 12 hours per week.
  • Pay rate: $17.20

Qualifications

  • Peer tutors can tutor any course they have completed with a final grade of at least 80%. Additionally, they must have a GPA of at least 75%.
    • Note: When a peer tutor cannot be found for a course, the Learning Centre may hire a peer study assistant (PSA), a student who is currently taking the course. PSAs must have their professor's approval to tutor this course, a current course grade of at least 85%, and a GPA of at least 80%.
  • Peer tutors must be current Niagara College students (full-time or part-time).
